Recently, CEO Katrina Birch and National Program Manager Damian Nicholson had the opportunity to join Nicole Ireland from QCoal Foundation to visit several schools in North Queensland. The team visited schools in Collinsville, Proserpine and Bowen, discussing a wide variety of financial literacy issues relevant to the needs of students and teachers in the region.
Schools in this part of Australia are developing excellent initiatives around financial literacy, and are well on their way to preparing students for life after school – especially when it comes to being financially capable young Australians!
It was our pleasure to engage with so many passionate educators, and to offer our assistance and some PD around financial literacy, as well as to assist schools to save time, money and effort by using existing FBF resources to complement and enhance their financial literacy programs.
Thank you to our partner, QCoal Foundation, for making this trip possible, and to all the educators in Bowen, Collinsville and Proserpine for welcoming us into your schools, sharing with us what you do, and allowing us to offer our support. Thanks also goes to all those educators who took the time to offer their feedback on exciting future initiatives that we have developed.
