Our Functions and Activities
Our functions and activities include the development, delivery and promotion of financial literacy initiatives and programs, including our ESSI Money Game which is an online financial literacy simulation.
What kind of personal information do we collect and hold?
The kind of personal information we collect and hold may include your name, your school/organisation, your class within your school/organisation, your position within your school/organisation, some contact information, information about your participation or progress within one or more of our programs, or feedback about one or more of our programs.
When you visit our websites, including the ESSI Money Game, we use tools provided by third parties, including Google and our web hosting company Liquid, to collect or view website traffic information. That information may include the IP address of the device you are using and information about sites that IP address has come from, the pages accessed on our site, the next site visited, the date and time of your visit and your browser, computer platform and screen resolution.

If we do not collect your personal information, you will be unable to fully participate in our programs, including the ESSI Money Game.
We do not collect or hold sensitive information or government identifiers such as your tax file number or Medicare number.

How do we collect and hold your personal information?
We collect your personal information when you participate in our programs, or when we are promoting our programs to you or your school/organisation. Wherever possible, we collect information from you directly but we may also collect your personal information from third parties such as your school/organisation.
We hold most information in our computer systems, and take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We have a range of physical and technological measures in place such as:

restricting access to our computer systems and physical records to authorised persons and preventing users from accessing information they have no need to access;

requiring unique passwords for access to our systems.
We take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information if it is no longer needed for any purpose. If we inadvertently come into possession of personal information that is not relevant to our functions or activities, we will dispose of that information.

We collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information so that we can effectively undertake our functions and activities as described above, and for purposes that include the following:

We may disclose your personal information to your school/organisation, our sponsors and corporate partners, our related companies and other entities, our legal, financial and other advisors, our service providers such as technology providers, or where we are required or authorised by law.
Are we likely to disclose your personal information to overseas recipients?
No. We are not likely to disclose your personal information to overseas recipients.

How can you access or correct your personal information?
We take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
You may be able to access and correct some of your personal information by logging into your member profile through our website.

If you make a complaint, we will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 2 business days, and endeavour to provide a written response within 20 business days.
