What’s the difference between ESSI Money and the Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge?

Basically, there are three versions of ESSI Money.  

The first two versions are known as ESSI Money and ESSI Money PLUS. These games are available all year round and teachers can register for their students to be able to play either of these versions at any time.

The third version is the Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge, which runs for two weeks each year. In 2022, the Challenge will run from Monday 15 August - Friday 26 August.

Registration for the Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge will open on Monday 25 July. 

The Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge uses ESSI Money PLUS as the platform but is a separate competition from the regular game.

You must be a Teacher Member of the Financial Basics Foundation in order to register a class for the Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge.

Full details including Registration Forms, Terms and Conditions and Prizes will be available on this website from Monday 25 August and will also be sent via email to all registered Teacher Members prior to the Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge commencing. 

In the Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge, students:

• compete against students from all over Australia, rather than just in their own class/school
• compete within a defined 2 week period
• are able to monitor their progress daily through our website on a national Leader Board and are eligible to win prize money for themselves and their school

In the Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge students are separated into two age categories: 12-15 and 16-18 and the players with the three highest scores are the winners of each category.  

The Suncorp ESSI Money Challenge also includes an additional financial literacy quiz that students must complete at the end of the game.
